P04
This prototype is the 1st watch we used to tell the world about the made-in-HK mechanical movement.
We chose components as close to our final design as possible, and we assembled this watch to a photo ready standard. It is this watch that taught us the true challenge of assembling a skeleton watch of this class.
Even with the experience of servicing Rolex, assembling thousands of watches and helping tens of thousands of 1st-time-watchmakers with their watch assembly, we were still surprised.
Most watches, even watches at around 20x of our price point, have a closed dial and case back. That means, it is okay at times to apply a little more lubrication than needed, as the watch would then function perfectly and the extra lubrication will be covered.
With a skeleton movement like ours, no mistakes are hidden. And with our choice of gun-silver and black component color, every spec of dust, and every extra drop of lubrication will show.
So what do we do then? We assemble this movement at a standard higher than movements at 10x or even 20x our price point.
