Unlike gold, a color often utilized since the beginning of watchmaking history, black is a relatively modern color for a watch case.

As the movement already had black and anthracite as its main colorway, a black or grey watch case might work really well with our current movement and dial design.

So we proceeded to plate a watch case with black DLC (Diamond Like Coating), which is a much more scratch and wear-resistant version of IPB of PVD. And we assembled two of our first DLC watches. P45, a DLC Braemar in a 32.5mm case, and P46, a DLC Braemar in a 38.5mm case.

These two prototypes became two of our favorite Braemar prototypes.
