P07

This prototype is very special.

Most people don’t appreciate enough the art of logo positioning.

Here’s a few things we need to consider when we position the “EONIQ SIGNATURE” on the crystal:

·        The font size. The design is beautiful because of the thin lines. But at the font size we prefer, it will requires us to print lines that’s thinner than human hair.

·        Adding of the text “Hong Kong”. We are very proud of the fact that this watch is likely one of the most (if not the most) Hong Kong watches money can buy. And the brand EONIQ SIGNATURE started in Hong Kong, so we want to proudly include our origin with our logo.

·        Alignment. This is a very difficult step for even just a standard dial. We usually have to consider the spacing between other elements on the dial, such as the markers and the watch hands, and find a balance. We can balance using empty spaces, or we can balance using the “center” of the design element. And for this logo, we even had to decide where the center is: with the font size difference between “EONIQ SIGNATURE” and “HONG KONG”, the center point is not simply the middle space between the two lines.

·        Positioning. Most people like balanced designs, and that’s why most logos are positioned at 12 or 6 o’clock. But with our skeleton movement design, we have a very beautiful component oscillating at the 12 o’clock. So we decided to position the logo at 9 o’clock

But I still couldn’t shake the feeling that a good old classic 12 o’clock logo was the way to go, so we made a prototype anyways.

This P07, becomes the only Braemar watch with a 12 o’clock logo.
